Real Madrid salvages draw at Elche
Real Madrid’s title charge hit a bump on Sunday as they came from behind twice to secure a 2-2 draw at Elche.
Elche opened the scoring through Aleix Febas in the 53rd minute.
Madrid responded via Dean Huijsen, who converted from a set piece in the 78th minute.
Elche struck again through Álvaro Rodríguez, only for Jude Bellingham to rescue a point in the 87th minute, finishing off a cut-back from Kylian Mbappé.
The draw means Madrid remain top of La Liga, but their lead has been cut to just one point.
The result also extends Madrid’s winless run to three games across all competitions.

Atletico Madrid scrape past Getafe
Atletico Madrid claimed a narrow 1–0 victory over Getafe thanks to a late own goal by Domingos Duarte, who deflected in a cross in the 82nd minute.
The win continues Atletico’s strong form and maintains pressure on the teams above them.

Betis held by Girona as Antony sees red
Real Betis were held to a 1–1 draw by Girona at the Estadio La Cartuja.
Girona broke the deadlock via Vladyslav Vanat, before Valentín Gómez equalised for Betis from a corner.
The match ended in controversy when Antony was sent off in stoppage time after attempting an overhead kick that struck Joel Roca in the face.
After being shown a straight red following a VAR review, Antony apologized and received a standing ovation from Betis fans as he left the pitch.
The dismissal means he will miss next week’s Seville derby against Sevilla.
Meanwhile, Betis’ other big moment came before kickoff, when Isco extended his contract with the club until 2028, much to the delight of the home crowd.

Big picture:
Real Madrid’s grip at the top is more fragile than ever after slipping up at a tricky away ground.

Atletico remain dangerous and consistent, climbing the table with gritty performances.

Betis’ season seesaws: a promising attacking display is marred by poor discipline, and they now head into one of their biggest matches of the season without Antony.
