EFCC has directed its staff to stop conducting sting operations at night

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has directed its staff to stop conducting sting operations at night across all the commission's commands, in line with its revised procedures for arresting and releasing suspects.

The directive comes after 69 suspected internet fraudsters were arrested by EFCC operatives in Ile-Ife, Osun State, raising concerns about the Commission's procedures for arrest and release of suspects.

The EFCC has assured the public that it remains committed to respecting the rule of law in its operations.
